I bought these boots for a trip to Italy. They stood up to extensive walking, including cobblestone streets and held up in the rain. I learned from previous Clarks purchases that the medium width is wide enough for a moderately wide foot and they run a half size large. I wear a 7-7 1/2; I ordered the 7. If they feel a little snug at the sides of your feet, don't send them back. They do stretch with wear! The sole and heel are very comfortable and stable.
