These boots are yummy--soft leather, comfortable sole, nice heel height, toe not too pointy. Be aware that they fit differently than other Clarks boots. I am a long time Clarks wearer and am typically an 8.5 medium in Clarks. The front of my foot is wide and my ankle is narrow so in other brands I wear a 9 for the width and deal with the extra length by adding a padded insole. But in most Clarks boots and shoes even a 8.5 medium is roomy in the width. Not these. They are cut narrower which I could sort of tell by the picture (they have a different style heel and outsole than other Clarks boots) so I went up to a 9. With thick-ish socks the extra length is not a problem. I wore them all day and they were comfortable walking on pavement. I wore them with narrow-cut pants and think they will also look good with tights and skirts.Read more >>

Though Wal-Mart has always sold inexpensive shoes, the high quality and appearance of such shoes has long been lacking. While the Summit isn't the best looking shoe, I purchased some a few months ago as I required to buy a relatively inexpensive pair of shoes for work. Wal-Mart was the one place open in your community and the Starter Summits were very comfortable when I tried them on within the store.
The Summit is a running type shoe with mesh sides that allow airflow to help keep the shoe cool. However, the mesh sides also quickly transfers moisture, you're going to get your feet wet during these shoes walking through wet grass. The tongue is very long (almost too long) but comfortable and offers adequate padding to stop the laces from binding when they are tied tightly. The heel cup is rigid, providing support for the foot and preventing the foot from sliding on the side in the shoe. The outsole in the shoe is non-marking, although the tread just isn't designed to be optimal for court use. The removable insoles offer some padding, though the shoes are less giving and flexible as higher dollar shoes. However, for that low price the Summit represents much.
